Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She has written fifteen books. She is also the co-founder the magazine The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is a writer TV personality, philanthropist, and TV host as well as the owner and editor of The Huffington Post. She emigrated from Greece to England aged 16 where she obtained a MA from Cambridge University in Economics. She was the first student from outside the UK to become president of The Cambridge Union at the age 21. Following after her college graduation, she was an influential right-wing syndicated reporter. A few more years after that she launched The Huffington Post which featured criticism of the present political landscape. She was able to get several prominent contributors who posted their opinions on culture and politics. Arianna first gained notoriety when she ran for California's recall election, in the place of Governor Davis. Alongside this, she was the leader of the Detroit initiative to encourage vehicles that are fuel efficient. Forbes named her as 12th on their list of the Top Influential Media Women. Guardian also included the HuffingtonPost in their Top 100 list in 2010. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post, and she became president of the media company. It included a variety of AOL products at the time like Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos was a daughter born to Konstantinos an advisor to management and a journalist. Even though she was close with father, her relationship with her mother shaped the remainder of her life. As a child, she showed leadership traits that she still is known for. She moved to England at 16, to pursue her education and was enrolled into Girton College Cambridge. When she was in college she was a member of the Cambridge Union's colleges debating societies, where she eventually became its first foreign female president. In 1972, she graduated with the degree of Master in Economics. In the years following her degree she worked as a journalist-critic and a host on TV. Alongside Bernard Levin she appeared on an episode of Face the music.
